If you are concerned about the health and wellbeing of people who live and work in rural or remote areas of Australia this is the Conference for you.
In March 2019 we will gather in Hobart, Tasmania for the 15th National Rural Conference.  We will meet to learn, listen and share ideas about how we can continue to do strive for equitable health outcomes in rural and remote Australia. We will acknowledge the efforts of the rural health sector – there is much to celebrate. We will work together to produce a set of recommendations for the best health outcomes in rural and remote Australia.

The Conference
Proudly managed by the National Rural Health Alliance, the National Rural Health Conference is the pre-eminent event in Australia for inspiration and information about rural and remote health and wellbeing.  It has a well-earned reputation as the best rural health Conference in Australia.

The first National Rural Health Conference was held in Toowoomba in 1991. Since that time the rural health sector has continued to come together to discuss how to improve health outcomes for the 7 million people that live in rural and remote Australia. The 15th Conference will be held in Hobart, Tasmania. Hobart and its surrounds was home to the Muwinina people who we acknowledge as the traditional and original owners and we pay respect to those that have passed before us and we acknowledge today’s Tasmanian Aboriginal community who are the custodians of this land.

Who should attend
As a rural health conference it's a must for health professionals from all disciplines, but its content and focus recognise the critical role played in rural wellbeing by education, industry and business, communications, aged care and disability services, transport and a wide range of other sectors and professions. So as well as health professionals, it will have plenty of interest to people working in rural education, regional development, housing, local government, community services, transport and infrastructure.

Whatever your concerns about healthy, sustainable and resilient rural and remote communities, this Conference will be of interest to you.Whether you are a consumer, a health professional, student, researcher, or health service manager, you will be able to engage with people and topics of relevance to you.
