Launch of the Guidelines for Quality Spiritual Care in Health

Date Posted: 10-Oct-2019

At our celebration of 45 Years of Caring for the Human Spirit on Tuesday 8 October our new Guidelines were launched. Kerrie Walter, Senior Project Officer at the Office of the Chief Clinical Officers at Safer Care Victoria joined our guest speaker Angie Dalli, Senior Policy Officer, Partnering with Consumers, Australian Commission for Safety & Quality in Health Care to help launch the new Guidelines for Quality Spiritual Care in Health and brought a message via a video link from Donna Markham, Chief Allied Health Officer at Safer Care Victoria, who wrote the Foreword to the document. In the Foreword Donna says "The guidelines are an important indicator of expectations for safe, high-quality care and effective operations for spiritual care. The guidelines align with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, National Palliative Care Standards and evidence-based care. This moves spiritual care closer to achieving consistent levels of quality and safety in our Australian health care services".
